Knitting Pattern: Tilli Mittens (by Minttu Wikberg)

Mittens are started with a provisional cast-on method. The edge is folded in half to form a sturdy cuff for the mittens.

The pattern for the Tilli mittens was previously published in Beloved Patterns & Vuokko knitting magazine, where the inspiration came from Vuokko’s stunning, timeless prints.

Children (women, men)

Circumference of the mitten 17 (21, 25.5) cm / 6.75 (8.25, 10)”

Yarn:

Novita Muumitalo (75 % wool, 25 % polyamide, 225 m (246 yds) / 100 g)

MC: Moomintroll 007 1 ball or 50 (60, 70) g or 115 (135, 160) m / 130 (150, 175) yds

CC: Snufkin 381 1 ball or 35 (45, 55) g or 35 (45, 55) m / 40 (50, 60) yds

Needles:

3 and 3,5 mm / US 2.5 and US 4 DPNs. Or size to obtain gauge.

Gauge:

24 sts × 26 rnds = 10 × 10 cm / 4 x 4” over colorwork using 3.5 mm / US 4 needle (after blocking).
