Knitting Pattern: Kirsikkapuu Shoulder Bag (by Anna Tanskanen)

The bag in knitted with tripled yarn to maintain its shape in use. One side of the bag has a lacy texture and the other one is smooth.

The pattern for the Kirsikkapuu shoulder bag was previously published in Beloved Patterns & Pihlgren and Ritola knitting magazine, where the inspiration came from Pihlgren and Ritola's iconic wallpaper patterns.

Knitting pattern details:

Sizes:

Width 27 cm / 10.75”, height 31 cm / 12.25”

Yarn:

250 g Sandnes Garn Duo (115 m / 126 yds = 50 g), in color Powder Pink 4032.

A small amount of white mohair yarn for embroidery, for example Sandnes Garn Tynn Silk Mohair, and Sandnes Garn Duo in color 4032 Powder Pink for the center of the flowers.

Needles:

6 mm / US 10 circular needle (80 cm / 32”). Adjust needle size if needed to obtain the correct gauge.

Gauge:

12 sts × 21 rnds = 10 cm × 10 cm / 4 x 4” over St St on 6 mm / US 10 needles (after blocking).

Notions:

Stitch marker, 1.5 cm / 0.5” wide leather strap 65 cm / 25.5”, darning needle and 3 mm / US D/3 crochet hook for embroidery.
