Knitting Pattern: Auringonkukka Socks (by Anna Johanna)

The various shapes of a sunflower can be viewed either from distance or from a close-up view. Include all colors into the colorwork knitting or add some of them later by duplicating stitches.

The pattern for the Auringonkukka socks was previously published in Beloved Patterns & Pihlgren and Ritola knitting magazine, where the inspiration came from Pihlgren and Ritola's iconic wallpaper patterns.

Knitting pattern details:

Sizes:

M.

Finished measurements: Ribbed leg circumference: 31.5 cm / 12.5”.

Sock ankle circumference: 24.5 cm / 9.75”.

Leg length from the edge of ribbing (at center back) to the bottom of heel: 39 cm / 15.25”

Yarn:

Sandnes Garn Perfect (100 m / 109 yds = 50 g), 120 g in color 8552, 110 g in color 2325, 10 g in color 6581 and 10 g in color 3535.

Needles:

3.5 mm / US 4, 100 cm circular needle or DPNs. Adjust needle size if needed to obtain the correct gauge.

Gauge:

23 sts × 26 rnds = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4” over colorwork worked in the round (after blocking).

Notions:

1 stitch marker, darning needle.
