Knitting Pattern: Brita Mittens (by Minttu Wikberg)

The mittens with long cuffs are a timeless design in their black and white color scheme. After twisted ribbing of the cuff, the graphic colorwork continues all the way to the top decreases.

The pattern for the Brita mittens was previously published in Beloved Patterns & Pihlgren and Ritola knitting magazine, where the inspiration came from Pihlgren and Ritola's iconic wallpaper patterns.

Sizes:

M (for woman)

Yarn:

Novita Nalle (260 m / 284 yds = 100 g), 1 ball or 45 g in color off-white 010 and 1 ball or 55 g in color black 099.

Needles:

3 mm DPNs. Adjust needle size if needed to obtain the correct gauge.

Gauge:

25 sts = 10 cm / 4”. The fit is quite snug – if you prefer having wider mittens, consider using Aran weight yarn, for example Novita 7 Veljestä.

Notions:

Darning needle.
