The Porvoo socks pattern was first published in the Beloved Patterns & Erik Bruun knitting magazine, inspired by Finnish graphic designer Erik Bruun’s iconic posters.

Size: 37–39 / US 6.5−8

Finished measurements:

Leg circumference without stretching: 20 cm / 7.75˝

Leg length: 19 cm / 7.5˝

Foot length adjustable.

Yarn:

Lankava Sulo (75 % wool, 25 % polyamide, 400 m (436 yds) / 100 g).

MC: 455 Salty Liquorice, less than 1 ball or 280 m / 360 yds.

CC: 451 Snow, less than 1 ball or 120 m / 131 yds.

Needles:

2.5 mm / US 1.5 DPNs (you can work the colorwork section with 3 mm / US 2.5 DPNs if you prefer a wider leg)

Gauge:

30 sts × 37 rnds = 10 × 10 cm / 4 × 4˝ over Stockinette Stitch.

30 sts × 37 rnds = 10 × 10 cm / 4 × 4˝ over colorwork in the round.
