The socks are adorned by gorgeous rose patterns. The turquoise details are added in the end by duplicating stitches.

The pattern for the Ruusu socks was previously published in Beloved Patterns & Birger Kaipiainen knitting magazine, where the inspiration came from Birger Kaipiainen’s iconic ceramic designs.

Yarn:

Opal 4-ply (75 % wool, 25 % polyamide) 425 m / 465 yds / 100 g

Red (5180) 45 g

Dark brown (5192) 70 g

Turquoise (5183) 5 g

Needles:

2.5 mm – 3 mm / US 1.5 – 2.5. Adjust needle size if needed to obtain the correct gauge.

Gauge:

30 sts × 34 rnds = 10 × 10 cm / 4 × 4˝.
