The delicate socks have a soft rolled edge. They are knitted from the cuff down to the toe.

The Sage socks pattern was first published in the Archipelago Knitting magazine, inspired by the Finnish archipelago and seascape.

Knitting pattern details:

Sizes:

EU 38-39 / US 7.5-8.5

Finished dimensions of the knit:

Leg/Foot Circumference: 18 cm / 7”

Leg Length: 11 cm / 4.25” (adjustable)

Foot Length: 22 cm / 8.5” (adjustable)

Socks should be worn with 2-5 cm / 1-2 inches of negative ease.

Yarn:

Säie Merino Sock (75% Superwash Merino Wool, 25% Nylon, 425 m / 100g).

1 skein or approx. 260 m / 284 yds in colorway Coastal Sage.

Needles:

2.25 mm / US 1, 80 cm / 32” circular needle or DPNs (if preferred). Or size to obtain gauge.

Gauge:

36 sts and 48 rnds = 10 × 10 cm / 4 × 4” in stockinette stitch in the round, blocked.

Notions:

Cable needle, waste yarn, darning needle.

Difficulty:

Intermediate.
