Knitting Pattern: Viivat Hat (by Anna-Karoliina Tetri)

The two-color brioche hat is reversible. The wavy pattern is created with decreases and increases.

The Viivat hat pattern was first published in the Beloved Patterns & Erik Bruun knitting magazine, inspired by Finnish graphic designer Erik Bruun’s iconic posters.

CC: 5591 Night Sky 1 (1, 2) balls or 108 (108, 216) m / 118 (118) 235 yds

Needles:

3.5 mm / US 4, 40 cm / 16˝ circular needle and DPNs. Or size to obtain gauge.

Gauge:

20 sts × 25 rnds = 10 × 10 cm / 4 × 4˝ over Brioche Stitch in the round

Notions:

Stich markers, darning needle and a piece of cardboard for a pom-pom (optional).
