Knitting Pattern: Pyörre Hat (by Maija Vaara)

Cables worked with the main and contrasting colors create an interesting pattern. The contrasting color detailing runs across the top of the hat in a playful way.

The pattern for the Pyörre hat was previously published in Beloved Patterns & Vuokko knitting magazine, where the inspiration came from Vuokko’s stunning, timeless prints.

Women, fits for head circumferences of 55−57 cm / 21.5 −22.5″

Finished measurements: 51–53 cm / 20−20.75″

Lankava Villava Wool Yarn 180 × 2 (100 % Finnish wool, 270 m (295 yds) / 100 g)

MC: 01 Off-white 1 skein

CC: 04 Dark grey 1 skein

Needles:

Circular needle 3 mm / US 2.5, 40 cm / 16″ and DPNs 3 mm / US 2.5.

Gauge:

24 sts × 32 rnds = 10 × 10 cm / 4 × 4″ over colorwork in the round.

Notions:

Darning needle, crochet hook (optional).
