Create a throw one square at a time – a tiny project is travels with you easily. For this project, you will need only knit and purl stitches.

The pattern for the Pinta throw was previously published in Beloved Patterns & Pihlgren and Ritola knitting magazine, where the inspiration came from Pihlgren and Ritola's iconic wallpaper patterns.

Sizes:

115 cm × 115 cm / 45.25 x 45.25”, 25 squares

Yarn:

Novita Woolly Wood (225 m / 246 yds = 100 g), color Dune 603, 8 balls

Needles:

4 mm / US 6

Gauge:

Square 1, Pilkut:

21 sts × 30 rows = 10 cm × 10 cm / 4 x 4”

Square 2, Koto:

23 sts × 32 rows = 10 cm × 10 cm / 4 x 4”

Square 3, Tam-Tam:

21 sts × 30 rows = 10 cm × 10 cm / 4 x 4”

The amounts of squares needed for each blanket:

Square 1, Pilkut 9 squares
Square 2, Koto 8 squares
Square 3, Tam-Tam 8 squares

Notions:

4 mm / US G/6 crochet hook for finishing the edges, darning needle.

General information:

Pinta Throw, inspired by patterns of Tam-Tam, Pilkut, and Koto wallpapers, consists of 25 squares that are sewn together. The squares of the throw are worked following the instructions and charts provided for the dish cloths with the same names. Finish all the squares before starting the assembly of the throw. Weave in ends and steam block the squares to flatten the edges and to make it easier to sew the squares together.
