Downloadable pattern: Birgen socks (designer Hannemari Lehtonen)
The secret to warm socks lies in using two yarns. The leg is knitted with a double strand of thick yarn. The foot fits into a shoe thanks to the thin sock yarn.
The pattern for the Birgen socks is published in the Saariston neuleet knitting magazine, which was inspired by the Finnish archipelago and seascape.
