Downloadable pattern: Ilona cardigan (designer Tiia Reho)

The cardigan is knitted in the round from the bottom up and steeked open at the front. Bobble buttons crown the pattern.

Materials:

Yarn: Vuonue Manta (100% Finnish wool, 180 m / 100 g)

MC: 4 (5, 5, 6, 6) (7, 7, 8, 8) skeins

CC: 1 (1, 1, 1, 1) (2, 2, 2, 2) skeins

Needles: 3.5 mm and 3.0 mm 120 cm circular needles for the yoke and for magic loop on sleeves (or equivalent DPNs). 3.5 mm and 3.0 mm 80–100 cm circular needles for the body.

Other notions: Stitch markers, tapestry needle, scrap yarn/stitch holders, and thinner yarn for reinforcing the steek.

Gauge:

18 sts and 26 rounds = 10 cm in stockinette stitch in the round, 18 sts and 26 rounds = 10 cm in stranded colourwork in the round
