The loose-fitting cardigan is knitted from the top down. The yarn is made from cozy Icelandic wool.

This cardigan is designed to have a loose fit. Choose a size that gives you approximately 10 cm / 4” of positive ease at your bust.

Needles:
4 mm 40 cm and 80–100 cm / US 6 16” and 32−40” circular needles and 4 mm / US 6 DPNs for neck, hem, and cuff ribbings, and 4.5 mm 80–100 cm / US 7 32−40” circular needle for colorwork.
Note that vertical stripes knitted with tight tension may cause pulling. Choose a larger needle size if your knitting tension is tight.
Gauge:
18 sts × 23 rows = 10 × 10 cm / 4 x 4” over colorwork using 4.5 mm / US 7 needle, after blocking.
Notions:
Stitch markers, waste yarn or stitch cords, darning needle for weaving in ends, and 5 (5, 5, 6, 6) (6, 6, 6) buttons (diameter 3.5 cm / 1.5”).
