Downloadable pattern: Hiutale Headband (designed by Heli Hottinen-Puukko)

This wintery colorwork knit set is knitted in the round. The fluffy surface of the knit comes from the silk-mohair yarn.

The instructions for the Hiutale headband are published in Rakkaat kuviot & Erik Bruun knitting magazine, where Erik Bruun's iconic posters served as inspiration.

One size, circumference adjustable according to head circumference

Measurements of the finished knit:

Width: approximately 10 cm

Circumference: 56 cm, length adjustable

Materials:

Yarn: Vuonue Pentti worsted yarn (70% Finnish sheep wool, 30% Tencel, 240 m / 100 g)

MC: undyed black, less than 1 skein or 132 m

CC: undyed white, less than 1 skein or 132 m

Needles: 3.25 mm double-pointed needles. Choose needle size to match the gauge.

Other materials: Tapestry needle for finishing, stitch marker (locking).

Gauge:

26 stitches and 29 rounds = 10 × 10 cm in colorwork in the round after washing.
